Classic rock with a modern edge. Martini Russa (for a brief period in 2023 known as Accent) is an international duo, power couple and rock band with members hailing from Brazil, Russia and the USA via Spain, UK and Australia.
Having met in Barcelona, Spain, the duo immediately started working on their own material as well as classic rock and blues covers, and have been creating and playing together all over the world, including Europe, Russia, Australia, and the US.
Martini Russa believe that music, curiosity, and self-education will save the world: “The only defense is your mind, so keep it sharp and ablaze!” - a lyric from Anastasia’s song “Midazolam Daze”.
Martini Russa currently live in Naples, Florida.
Anastasia is the signer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist for Martini Russa. She was born in Moscow but moved to Phoenix, Arizona with her mother at age 15, where, upon graduating from high school, she studied jazz history, piano performance and psychology at the University of Arizona.
Anastasia has been in bands since she was 16 years old, and has released albums of original songs with her bands Ghetto Princess (Tuscon, AZ, 2003), the Theory (Tucson, AZ, 2009), and One Wing Left (Oxford, UK, 2015).
Anastasia has a PhD in Psychology and an MBA from Oxford University. But in the end she mustered all of her courage to follow the path of music instead.
Martini hails from Porto Alegre, Brazil. He has been playing guitar since he was 14 years old, and has studied music at EM&T, the School of Music and Technology in São Paulo.
At the age of 18 he moved to Barcelona, Spain in search of a different life, adventure, and to study flamenco guitar.
But rock music has always been his first passion, so upon meeting Anastasia, he chose to move to Oxford to be with her instead of going to Thailand, and to dedicate his life fully to music.
He is a black belt in Karate and speaks five languages.
Marco plays drums and bass with Martini Russa, but he is first and foremost a Musician. He is a true multi-instrumentalist, also proficient in nylon string guitar, hand pan, and Latin percussion.
Marco grew up in Miami, FL and Margarita Island, Venezuela. His musical journey spans 5 continents, where he has performed in Japan, Spain, Germany, Argentina, and Slovakia.
Marco is a U.S. Air Force veteran and also speaks multiple languages.
Erlan was born in the vibrant musical landscape of Cuba. He specializes in the electric bass but also plays clarinet, saxophone, and guitar. Back in his homeland, he was an arranger and musical director for several bands, and played bass for the Havana Compás Dance company, gracing stages across Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, and the United States.
Now residing in the U.S., Erlan brings his diverse musical talents to Martini Russa as our bassist.
